I’m Bernette Downs, a speech-language pathologist with more than twenty years of experience supporting communication across the lifespan. My work spans early development through adulthood and is shaped by close attention to how communication unfolds in real contexts not just in clinical settings.

Speech Factory Boutique was created to offer a private, individualized approach to speech and language services for children and adults seeking thoughtful, discerning care. The practice serves those who value clarity, discernment, and ongoing support through a model that is intentionally small, relationship-driven, and tailored to the individual.

My approach is grounded in method, evidence-informed practice, and clinical judgment developed over years of work across settings. I rely on careful observation, structured analysis, and professional instinct to determine what will be most meaningful for communication and what will not. This allows for focused, efficient engagement that prioritizes progress without unnecessary intervention.
