PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW FOR PEDIATRICIANS
Private Pediatric Speech, Language & Literacy Evaluation
Speech Factory provides individualized speech-language evaluations for preschool and school-age children when concerns arise regarding speech clarity, expressive or receptive language, early literacy, or writing.
The practice is intentionally small, allowing for thoughtful assessment, clinical discernment, continuity, and clear communication with families and referring providers.
Evaluations are designed to clarify developmental concerns, identify areas of need, and provide families with practical recommendations regarding appropriate next steps.
Areas of Concern
A speech-language evaluation may be appropriate when:
A child’s speech is difficult to understand
A child has difficulty expressing wants, needs, or ideas
A child has difficulty answering questions or following directions
Parents report concerns related to early reading, spelling, or writing skills
What Families Receive
Following evaluation, families receive a clear explanation of findings, individualized recommendations, and guidance regarding next steps. When appropriate and with proper authorization, findings may also be shared with the referring physician or other members of the child’s care team.
A Private, Individualized Approach
Speech Factory offers a more personalized alternative to high-volume practice settings. Evaluations are structured around the individual child and family, with attention to developmental history, functional communication, and the concerns that prompted referral.
Baltimore services may be provided in the child’s home or another agreed-upon setting, offering families a convenient private evaluation option.
